THE WONDER OF CLEANSING

His Blood Cleanses your Conscience

If you ask God to cleanse your conscience with the blood of the Lord Jesus, then He will do the impossible and He will touch the pain which is stored in the memory, so that you will receive inner healing. Then you receive the ability not to think about it anymore. For God says to everybody who has their eye fixed on Jesus: ‘I will forgive their sins and I will no longer remember their wrongs’⁴⁴.

The Hebrew word that is used here for ‘remember’ is zakar. It means that God is able to no longer think of it, to no longer recall it. This is what happens to you when your consciousness is cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus. Then you too will also receive the ability to no longer think of it.

Only then can you forget what lies behind you and reach for that which lies ahead⁴⁵. The third wonder of the Cross is the fulfilment of the prophecy of Isaiah, that Jesus bore not only our sins but also our pain⁴⁶.

Father in heaven,

In the name of Jesus, I ask You to cleanse my conscience and to wipe away every impure image that has been burned into my mind with the blood of the Lord Jesus. Make my conscience holy so that it will no longer accuse me and I will hear your voice better and serve you with joy.
I believe that the blood of Jesus can also cleanse my sub consciousness and that You will touch the pain which is stored in the memory of sin, so that I may receive inner healing. Come Holy Spirit and heal my wounded soul in Jesus’ name.
Thank You that I may receive Your healing love in the shadow of Your presence.
