The fifth miracle of the cross:
THE WONDER OF DELIVERANCE
How do you regard what which took place at the inner court of the Praetorium? Do you believe that the Roman soldiers crowned Jesus with the crown of thorns of your life? Jesus wants you to give your crown of thorns to Him: your past, your pain, your anger, your sadness, your rejection, your feelings of inferiority, your right to retribution and your role as a victim.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree’. So that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith62
See how the King of kings bows down before you and says: ‘When the soldiers hit me on my head with a reed, and the thorns penetrated the skin on my skull, I took all of the results of sin in your life upon myself. Do not be afraid, but crown Me with the crown of thorns of your life.’ If you are willing, you can join me in praying the following prayer for the wonder of deliverance:
Father in heaven,
Thank You that Jesus has ransomed me by becoming a curse for me. I decide to give Jesus the crown of thorns of my life. I give Him my past, my pain, my anger and sadness, my rejection and feelings of inferiority, and my right to retribution. Forgive me Father, that I have allowed myself to become trapped in the role of a victim. Thank You that Jesus bore the curse for me and that I can also share in the blessing of Abraham.
